History

Carrying on a family tradition, Roger M. Moore, Jr. founded R.M. Moore Real Estate in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1995. With an emphasis on customer service and expertise in the commercial real estate market, the company grew quickly and opened an additional real estate office in Sevierville, Tennessee, in 2005. Since its inception, R.M. Moore has grown more than 900%, demonstrating that first-rate customer service, an in-depth understanding of the market and a team approach are the keys to success for everyone involved.

In January 2008, R.M. Moore Real Estate Company gained a national platform by becoming affiliated with Sperry Van Ness, an Irvine, CA-based firm that was founded in 1987. Sperry Van Ness’ platform allowed growth for the company and offers the advisors a resourceful way to provide clients with a detailed marketing package as well as market their local listings to a wide audience of brokers. The firm also shares Moore’s philosophy of putting the client first, treating people fairly and being aggressive in a positive way.

The affiliation of Sperry Van Ness | R.M. Moore, LLC has proven to be a positive move for the local firm. In December 2008, Sperry Van Ness | R.M. Moore, LLC ranked no. 3,453 on the Inc. 5000 list of Fastest – Growing Private Companies in America. The firm also ranked no. 49 on the magazines list for Top 50 Real Estate Companies in America. U.S. Local Business Association awarded Sperry Van Ness | R.M. Moore, LLC the 2008 Best of Knoxville Award in the Real Estate Management Category.

As a rookie company of Sperry Van Ness, Sperry Van Ness | R.M. Moore, LLC took the ball and ran with it. When the 2008 Final Firm Stack Rankings were announced, Sperry Van Ness | R. M. Moore, LLC ranked no. 10 on the 2008 Firm Rankings and Roger M. Moore, Jr. placed no. 17 out of the Top 20 SVN Advisors for 2008.

In 2009, Sperry Van Ness | R.M. Moore, LLC merged with Conversion Properties, another local powerhouse in commercial real estate. As a result, a unique combined company, unlike any other in East Tennessee emerged. It combines R.M. Moore’s long-term regional dominance, Conversion’s expertise in the downtown Knoxville market, and the powerful national reach and depth of resources provided by R.M. Moore’s affiliation with Sperry Van Ness. The principals of the two firms, Roger Moore and Joe Petre, share a combined commitment to customer-centric service at all levels of their respective organizations.

Later that same year, Sperry Van Ness | R.M. Moore, LLC acquired the commercial division of Colonial Real Estate, Inc. in Sevierville, Tennessee.
